GSpeed’s C5 and C6 Corvette accessory drive system is designed for the racer.
Something that is commonly overlooked when adding performance to any race car build is the accessory drive system. Not only can weight be removed from the OE systems but you can better taylor the speeds and power loss from how fast you are spinning them. In our case we have worked years on how to package a true light weight race front drive to the LS engine within the very tight confines of the C5 and C6 packaging.
What have we done? We have dropped almost 30 lbs off of the front of the engine as well as reduced the load on the engine by 12-15 hp due to slowing the accessories and removing friction loss going to smaller belts. A production car needs higher alternator and power steering output at lower RPM’s to make it easier to drive on public road ways and parking lots. A race car does not need this strain on the engine or the wear on the parts so we can slow everything down and give your accessories longer life as they see much higher engine RPM’s than what a street car will.
While we do suggest this be paired with one of our dry sump oil systems it can be used with the OE wet sump pump, or add it to a 3 or 5 stage Dailey dry sump oiling system for the best protection. OE LS7/LS9 dry sump systems will NOT work with our drive system.
